SMARTS
Special Music and ARTS Programs
- The SMARTS Program is designed to be a permanent, self-sustaining, 7th hour arts program for the elmentary schools in Clover Park.
- The first program began in February of 2011 with a pilot program at Idlewild Elementary. It is called "The SMARTS Instrumental Music Program at Idlewild Elementary ", and as it title suggests, it is an instrumental music program.
- As of September 2012, the Idlewild SMARTS Program has expanded to two, 90 minute classes twice a week, serving 50 students from grade 3 to 5.
- John Watts, former member of the Air Force Band instructs, here. The kids love him.
- Our second program is an unique affiliate, held at Greenwood Elementary. The current enrollment of 57 students, is selflessly taught by Justin MacKaughan.
- Our third SMARTS Program, the Oakbrook SMARTS Program, will begin the week of October 15th and is expected to serve 25 students.
- Debe Cristtknacht is our newest, talented instructor and we are anxious to see fantastic things from Oakbrook.
